The city of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, home of the world series champions the Phillies! What an exciting city to be apart of! It’s amazing that it’s called the city of brotherly love, yet love is what it lacks the most. Holy Hands will be working with two different churches, Pastor Alex Velazquez and Pastor Luis Torrado! Both are amazing churches with big hearts for their communities in different areas of Philly.

The Holy Hands Expedition starts with three intense days of training your students  in many different areas for outreaches including, human videos, evangelism training, apologetics, testimonies, children’s ministry, one on one street evangelism, and Garbonics (aka. Stomp). These days will be long hard training days and at night we will be having services where we as Holy Hands staff will be sharing their heart for the ministry of evangelism and getting the students spiritually geared up for the outreaches!

The next few days will be filled with putting into practice what was learned in the training sessions. In the mornings teams be doing flyer distribution and working on the food truck, where they unload, pack up groceries and sort through them and then pack them all back up to hand out to over 600 families in the Philadelphia area. Then the afternoons the students will get prepped and go out to put to use all that they have learned for outreaches in the area. Students will get a chance to give their testimonies publicly and also share their love for Jesus with people in the Philadelphia. On Saturday the churches will do two separate church outreaches also known as block parties where hundreds of people will come to get groceries and be told about the love of Jesus! It will be a crazy, exciting, fun filled day where we get to serve and share the love of Christ with so many people!

The best part about this trip though will be taking all that the students have learned home, to where they have their own mission field. Our hope is that their life is changed on this trip, and then they use that experience to change other people’s lives in their own communities!

Highlights from 2009

Here are just some of the highlights from Philadelphia 2009...

Salvations: 169 adults and children gave their lives to Christ

Outreaches: 16

What is Unique

In Philly we worked with two different churches, which means to different sites for our outreaches! We did double to outreaches in a day, which was amazing and also our Big food truck outreach on Saturday we had two of them and gave away 660 boxes of groceries to the families in the Philadelphia area!

Ashley B.I was able to step out of my comfort zone. God gave me the strength to share my testimony, talk to people, perform in front of them, and I didn’t think I could do any of that. ~Ashley Burke

Stories from 2009

ElenaThe one thing that I will always remember is having my hearts broken for the people; I finally felt called to these people and cared about them, I wanted to help them. ~Elena Potter
