About First Fruits Evangelistic Association
Written by Jason Rising

Jason and Teri RisingJason M. Rising - president of First Fruits Evangelistic Association

First Fruits is called to reach the world with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and to  disciple the student generation to GO into the  entire world and preach the gospel.  In short,  we are called to challenge, teach, equip, preach, and reach America and beyond.

About eight years ago the Lord laid upon my heart the name “First Fruits”.  I knew that He was placing a seed for my future.  At the time I did not understand what it meant, or how it would work in my ministry calling to evangelize, but I knew it was coming one day.  Over the years I looked for scripture passages to speak to me the meaning of the name and I was waiting for the time to launch into what I feel is the full expression of my calling.  Over the years God expanded my vision from Holy Hands to the HH Expedition, Garbonics, Spam Jello, and most recently The Save America Network.  I was not sure how it all fit together at the time, and I knew that I did not want to launch a bunch of ministries but I knew it was Gods’ call.  This past year (2007) the Lord released  the First Fruits vision in my heart and it all started to make sense.  The First Fruits Evangelistic Association was birthed as our banner of ministry and we are on our way to see the intricate facets that God has birthed over the years to fulfill the evangelistic calling the He has placed on my life.

There are a few scripture passages that define the crux of the FFEA.  The first is found in James 1:18.  The number one focus of First Fruits is to continue to go into areas of darkness to see the lost come to Christ, and that these “First Fruits” would in turn continue to evangelize that area for the great harvest that will follow.  The NAS Study Bible best explains it as:  “the first sheaf of the harvest was an indication that the whole harvest would eventually follow, so the early Christians were an indication that a great number of people would eventually be born again.”  This is the calling that the Lord has placed on this ministry.  Everything we do is to see that this is the fruit of our services, training seminars, and equipping of the local body.  As people come to the saving knowledge of Christ they will, in turn, call a lost world to follow in their footsteps.

The second focus of First Fruits is found in Revelation 14:4.  FFEA is called to cultivate the ground of discipleship for this student’s generation.  In order to build up future generations FFEA offers preaching, internships, and the young 501. By presenting these students with such opportunities this provides them a chance to follow their calling to serve using their God given gifts. “First Fruits is known as a people group who have kept themselves from the defiling relationship with the world system.  In Revelation believers are considered as a choice offering to God.” (NASB Study Bible)
